In the manufacture of plastic grids, polymer molecules are rearranged and orientated with the heat extension process, which strengthens the bonding force between molecular chains and achieves the purpose of improving the strength of polymer grids. Its elongation is only 10%-15% of the original sheet. If carbon black and other anti-aging materials are added to geogrids, they will have better acid, alkali, corrosion and anti-aging properties.


Unidirectional Geogrid Uses:

1. One-way geogrids are used to reinforce soft foundation: geogrids can rapidly increase the bearing capacity of foundation, control the development of settlement, and effectively distribute the load to wider base, thus reducing the thickness of base, reducing the cost of construction, shortening the construction period and prolonging the service life.


2. One-way geogrid is used in cement pavement: geogrid is laid at the bottom of cement pavement, which can reduce rutting depth, prolong the fatigue life of pavement, and reduce the thickness of cement pavement to save cost.


3. One-way geogrids are used to reinforce embankment slopes and retaining walls: traditional embankments, especially high embankments, often need to be overfilled and shoulder edges are not easy to compact, which leads to rainwater immersion and collapse and instability of the slope in the later stage. At the same time, gentle slopes are needed to cover a large area, and retaining walls also have the same problems. Geogrids are used to reinforce embankment slopes or retaining walls. Reinforcement of retaining wall can reduce the area of two parts and one part, prolong the service life and reduce the cost by 20-50%.


4. One-way geogrid is used to reinforce rivers and seawalls: it can be made into a stone cage and used with the grid to prevent the dam from collapsing due to the erosion of sea water. The stone cage has permeability, which can slow down the impact of sea waves, prolong the life of the dam, save manpower and material resources, and shorten the construction period.


5. One-way geogrids are used to dispose of landfills: geogrids combined with other geosynthetics can effectively solve the problems of uneven settlement of foundation and emission of derivatives, and can maximize the storage capacity of landfills.
